There are those who advise that I turn off the TV. Others suggest weening myself off of Fox News and CNN. Some have even urged that I stay off of the internet. I have fiercely resisted such notions. Isolating myself from the broadcasts of worldwide media outlets is tantamount to shutting myself off from the rest of the world.
Keenly aware of my responsibility to properly scrutinize information, I dare not become so gullible as to simply buy-in to the theories of reckless correspondents. But neither am I willing to impulsively dismiss plausible explanations without so much as vetting them. What purpose would such closemindedness serve?
On the contrary, I am compelled to rationalize, examine, give good reason for or argue against positions that may gravely impact people’s system of belief. Worldly matters factor into the pivotal thoughts that trouble our minds.
That is why in 2015, I created THISJUSTIN. An online column for blogging and reporting world news my way, plain-speaking, no-nonsense, and responsibly.
